Music News 10 February 2023

Welcome to the music department for 2023.

For those families who are new to St Paul's College, we have a tradition of excellent music. I am looking forward to seeing and hearing your son further develop his musical skills and talents this year.

  • All Year 7 students should have chosen a brass or woodwind instrument to learn this year. Instruments will need to be sourced as soon as possible so that your son can begin his lesson with his instrumental teacher as soon as possible. Please email me if you have any questions about this (email below).
  • Year 8 students will have had contact from their instrumental teacher about lessons resuming this coming week. Please ensure your son brings his instrument to school on the same day he had his lessons last year.
  • Students who are wanting to learn an instrument and don't have a lesson time can see me (Mr Stanbridge) in the music room at break times this coming week.
  • Concert band resumes Tuesday 14 February at 7.45am in the music room.
  • If your son would like to be part of the combined St Paul's and Marist College choir, please encourage him to sign up in the music room. Rehearsals are after school on a Tuesday at Marist College.

Thank you to the 2023 mass band who provided an exceptional accompaniment to the school singing at our Inaugural Mass on the 8th of February. This was a great start to our year as a college and it was encouraging to hear the young men of St Paul's singing so beautifully at this special occasion.
