St Paul’s College Health Centre 10 February 2023

Talofa lava, Malo e lelei and Kia Ora from St Paul’s College Health Centre

We provide free health care for our students for a range of mental and physical health issues.

As the St Paul’s School Nurse, I am at school every Monday and Wednesday, from 8am to 4pm no appointments necessary. I see and treat our students for illness, injuries, stress and worries. I also do health and wellness screening of all Year 9 students as part of their introduction to College life.

We have antibiotics, pain relief, asthma inhalers and allergy medication (including Epipens) and do throat swabs and COVID tests if needed.

Every Wednesday 1pm to 3:30pm we have a Doctor clinic with Dr Fiona Lienert from Meadowbank Medical Centre. The service is free, and prescriptions are free also via Chemist Warehouse. Her services include mental health support, acne treatment, asthma reviews, BP and weight monitoring.

Term 1 we have the Year 9 Hearing and Vision screening. The Asthma Nurse visits every term through the year and our Public Health Nurse visits regularly to give Bicillin injections for students with rheumatic fever.

There is also Year 7 scheduled immunisations and Years 8 and 9 catch up immunisations coming soon, as many students have missed out through the lockdowns. Students will receive a talk or video and consent packages will be sent home to caregivers and parents.

To stay well and healthy in body and mind please remind your sons to bring their water bottle to school and to use them, try the school lunches to maintain their brain function through the day, and keep active to protect their physical and mental health.

For any concerns or questions, if you are worried about your son’s hearing or eyesight, or if you’d like your son to be seen by the Doctor, please email me anytime Mon to Fri [email protected] or ring/text on 021-440123.
