Speech About Marcellin Champagnat

As part of the Champagnat Feast Day celebrations, Steven Moala (Year 12) delivered this memorable speech to the school assembly.

Continuing His Legacy

“To bring up children properly, we must love them and love them all equally”.

Good morning brothers, I'm here to address you about the man who founded the Marist brothers and laid the foundation for our school, St Paul's College.

Today, we gather to celebrate the remarkable legacy of St Marcellin Champagnat. Let us also reflect on the core values that define our institution: faith, commitment, excellence, courage, and brotherhood. These values, deeply ingrained in our St Paul's community, guide us in our pursuit of education and shape the individuals we strive to become.

We must remember that we are not just students of St Paul’s College. We are the vision of St Marcellin Champagnat. It is our duty to live out his teachings, to create a welcoming and supportive environment, and to help one another succeed in our academics. Let us embrace his values of respect, understanding, and kindness daily.

As St Paul's College students, we carry forward these values. We nurture our faith, remain committed to our studies and personal growth, strive for excellence, demonstrate courage in our actions, and foster a sense of brotherhood.

By embodying these values, we honor St Marcellin Champagnat's legacy. We become individuals who make a positive impact on our community and beyond. Together, let us embrace faith, commitment, excellence, courage, and brotherhood, as we continue our journey as students of St Paul's College, and carry on the legacy of St Marcellin Champagnat.
