Concert Band

Our Concert Band performed at the KBB Festival on Friday 11 August at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell. A big highlight for our young men was participating in the 'play in' event where all the bands from the afternoon session learned and played together with the guest adjudicator. Thank you To Miss Kim and Mr Thomas for their leadership of the concert band and for raising the standard of our young musicians in the band.

Confortare Per Mariam

Confortare Per Mariam, our combined choir with Marist College, attended Cadenza from 14-16 August in Rotorua. The young women and men of this choir were kept busy at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre with the packed workshops and rehearsal schedule. From the audience, it was humbling to see the immense pride in our students' faces and seeing all of the hard work come to fruition. These young people still found time to do their chores at Keswick Christian Camp, even singing as the sun rose over the camp in the morning.

On the way back to Auckland, we made a quick stop off in Hamilton to sing to the residents of the hospital wing at Summerset Retirement Village. One special resident, Mr Stanbridge's mum, very much appreciated this quick but meaningful mini concert.

I would like to say a massive thank you and well done to all of our students who were involved in both the KBB band festival and Cadenza choir regional finals. These were two big events for our music department and I am immensely proud of all of the young people who performed amazingly and behaved immaculately. Also, thank you to the parents and staff who supported and helped make both of these events possible.
