News From Your Library 9 February 2024

Kia Ora my name is Rebecca Washer and I’m very honoured to be the new librarian here at St Paul’s College. I am part of the support staff and that means I’m here to serve the students on their learning journey. Whenever they need to find out information on any subject they are studying, or just interested in, please encourage them to come to the library and we can find it together.

Applications open for St Paul's College Student Library Assistants
St Paul's Library Assistants become confident, connected and lifelong learners by supporting both staff and students in all library activities. The Library Assistants promote reading for both leisure and curriculum, assist in issuing and returns, advise on new collection resources, shelve and check the collection is in the correct location. The Library Assistants provide positive role models and raise the profile of the library to their student peers.

The commitment involves 1-2 lunch-times per week and the hours count towards the service hours. Applications are open to all Year 8 -12 students, and a committee will be chosen in consultation with the DP Curriculum and senior staff.

To apply please email the School Librarian, Mrs Washer at [email protected] and answer the following three questions:

  • Why would you like to be a student librarian?
  • What skills would you bring to the student librarian role?
  • Are you prepared to commit to 1 -2 lunch-times for the school year and support the smooth running of the library?

Applications close on Friday 16 February.

Any queries please visit Mrs Washer in the library.
