Today we welcomed Brother Colin to our chapel assembly to celebrate his 70th anniversary as a Marist brother. Brother Colin addressed the students and congratulated them for their achievements. He noted the milestones of this term, especially the success of the choir at Cadenza and the many sporting achievements.
He reminded us of the Angelus prayer "Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be done unto me according to thy word. And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us."
This was to remind us of the call to serve unconditionally. He recited the poem The Tyger by William Blake. "Tyger, tyger burning bright in the forests of the night..." which expresses awe at the marvels of God's creation.
Brother Colin has been associated with the college from its inception in 1955.
He is a local boy and is very knowledgeable of the history of the school and the neighbourhood. He visits us regularly and rarely misses a game of premier rugby!
We thank Brother for his constant support and presence at St Paul’s College.
We wish him good health and congratulate him once again on 70 years of service in the Marist tradition.
An exceptional milestone!
