News from your Library 27 June 2025

We are very proud of our good readers in the St Paul's Library and have a 'WALL OF FAME' to honour the students who have read over twenty books this year. These students actively engage in library time, regularly request books to be put aside for them, and suggest new books to be purchased for the library. Congratulations to all our good readers, no doubt many of whom will be future St Paul's leaders.

The Year 7 students celebrated Matariki this week in the library by colouring the nine Matariki stars, each representing different aspects of the natural world and human experience. Noa Jack and Leon Williams-Fotu showed a lot of mana when reading in Te Reo the themes of reflection, remembrance and the environment.

To celebrate Filipino Language and Culture Week, our school prefect and proud Filipino, Miguel Gazo, created and ran a Filipino Kahoot in the library. Congratulations to Mateo Afoa and Owen Turner (Year 13) for winning the event, and all those who attended to support our amazing Filipino community.

A famous Filipino saying is 'Habang may buhay, may pag-asa' meaning 'While there is life, there is hope', which encourages optimism as there's always a chance for positive change and new beginnings.
