On Tuesday 17 June, we welcomed an exchange day with St Mary’s College, during which our perfect teams came together in a spirit of collaboration and shared purpose. The day was dedicated to exploring ways to strengthen our unity and togetherness as student leaders.
We were privileged to participate in two insightful workshops led by Ms Smuga and Mr Prasad.
Ms Smuga delivered a session on active service, challenging us to consider how we, as leaders, can continue to give back to our communities even after our formal roles have ended. Mr Prasad followed with a workshop on the diversity of leadership, reminding us that leadership is not confined to being vocal or dominant; true leadership begins with taking responsibility for one’s own life.
Later in the day, we came together for a shared Liturgy, where we offered prayers for both of our school communities and celebrated the deepening bond between them. This was followed by speeches from our Head Boy, Joseph Samuels, and Head Girls, Grace Tipi and Francesca Watts. They reflected powerfully on the day’s central themes of unity and togetherness, highlighting the importance of such collaborative initiatives.
We concluded the day with a moment of group reflection led by Josiah, who shared the words:
"Although we are divided by blood, we are united by love" a reminder of the boundless love Christ showed to the world, and the love we are called to share with one another as brothers and sisters in faith.
1 Corinthians 16:14
“Let all that you do be done in love.”
