Cadenza - August 2025

A huge congratulations to our college choir, ‘Confortare’ who were awarded a Tūī at Cadenza in Rotorua. Tūī is the gold award, which 3 of the 12 choirs were awarded at this year's Upper North Cadenza. For the first time this year, there was a set piece, which was performed by all 12 choirs and was a 13th-century medieval round, written for Cadenza 2025. Confortare was additionally awarded the ‘Best Performance of the Set Piece’, being the inaugural winners of this top honour. Well done, Confortare!

A special thank you to our Choir Master, Mr Terence Maskell, for leading the choir to this massive success. This trip could not have happened without our staff and parents, especially Becks Tupa’i, who was our tour manager and details expert. Also to Ms Manu for being a great second in charge, and parents Nainz Tupa’i and Sione Leha’uli, who did an exceptional job at ensuring the boys kept in line, assisted by Mr Prasad, who joined us for the final 2 days.

We also thank Tony Murray (SPL Old Boy) and Susan Murray for sponsoring the travel kit for this campaign. We were thrilled Tony was able to join the choir in Rotorua and see them perform during the evening gala.
