We have had a very busy Term 1 in the St Paul's Library, and as at the end of Week 9 we have issued over 1,400 books to the students and staff, an average of over 3 books per student. We have purchased and accessioned 106 books into our catalogue, and we have borrowed over 120 books from the National Library, predominantly for the History Department to support Mr Bower's lessons.
The most Popular Novel was Albert Wendt's brilliant novel Sons for the Return Home, read by many of our Year 13 students.
The most Popular Graphic novels were the Sakamoto Days series.
The most Popular Non- Fiction Book was Perspective by Shaun Johnson.

Our St Paul's Bookclub was on St Patrick's Day Tuesday 17 March, and after enjoying a big piece of my famous vanilla cake with green icing, we settled down to discuss our favourite books.
Thanks to Christian Fa'aui (Year 11) for his warm welcome and introductions to our new members.
Matthew Blanch (Year 13) talked about his favourite Irish authors, and the many books we have in the library, including Colm Toibin, Oscar Wilde and John Boyne.
We are very blessed at St Paul's with the large number of engaged readers, some taking out very challenging books and many just reading for enjoyment.

Last week, during library classes we undertook the ancient Asian art of Origami. Reading and following complicated paper folding instructions proved easy for a few, and challenging for many. Learning to read and follow detailed instructions are great skills to get you through life successfully.
Loads of swans, pinwheels and fish were created and displayed, a few examples from Year 8RAA are below.
