In Week 10 of Term 2, our much-loved Brother Colin Divane was invited by the students of Year 12 English to come and speak to the boys about the work he has done visiting prisons, spending time talking and praying with the prisoners and giving them spiritual guidance and friendship. The boys of Year 12 English have been studying the classic prison movie The Shawshank Redemption, a story of hope amid despair. They learned a lot from Brother Colin, whose stories of the lives of real prisoners helped bring the story of the film to life.

The boys listened carefully and asked questions. Brother Colin had many anecdotes to share, and we thank him for taking the time to share his experiences with the young men of the College. We also thank him for the compassion, humility and good humour which he always brings to his interactions with others. Indeed Brother Colin truly embodies the Marist values of our school.

Brother Colin repeated his presentation for the Year 10 class, and after spending time in the RE classes, he joined the staff for the shared lunch to celebrate the end of term.
