Year 9 Readers Cup and House Readers Cup 2022

Year 9 Readers Cup 2022

Our Year 9 Readers Cup team has been chosen. Eight students bravely put their names forward to be part of the five member team to represent St Paul's College in the Auckland Year 9 Readers Cup in June. They went through a vigorous process of reading three texts and answering questions related to that text. Congratulations to these five young men who came out on top:

  • Marley Fonua
  • Ethan Stewart
  • Javan Jeyhan
  • Noah Faalogo-Lilo
  • Kalani Liddall-Sua

Can't wait to get started...

House Readers Cup 2022

We finished the term with a wonderful new reading competition.

All classes in Year 7-9 have been involved in a House Readers Cup competition running in the library. This was to support the nationwide Year 9 Readers Cup that our students compete in.

Each week, the students were given relevant texts to enhance their reading comprehension and skills and then quizzed in their house teams on the text in the library. The positive buzz in the library and classes showed reading was alive and well!

The programme culminated in a full Year 7-9 competition held in the hall, where each house had six team members - two from each year level. The rest of the Year 7-9 students sat in their houses and cheered on their team. It was a lovely way to end our term - celebrating reading, teamwork and spirit.

Congratulations to our inaugural winners of the 2022 House Readers Cup Competition: LAVALLA

A big thank you to Mrs Rangi Fiu and Mr Marty Willetts for their help.
