First Concert Band Rehearsal, The Big Sing and More!

It was exciting to see a good number of young men attend our first concert band rehearsal for the year this week. After a year of not being able to have a concert band, this is a great new start with Miss Kim and Mr Thomas taking leadership of this group every Tuesday before school. 

The NCEA music class had a surprise visit and Q&A session on 13 May with well known rapper 'Lisi'. This was a highlight for many of our senior musicians and they each gained an insight into what it is like in the professional music industry.

The Big Sing is on 14 June at the Auckland Town Hall. A handful of our young men will be performing as part of 'Confortare Per Mariam', which is the combined Marist and St Paul's College choir. If your son is in this choir, please remind him that attendance at all rehearsals is compulsory.

Music reminders:

• Marist/St Paul's Choir rehearses Tuesday after school and Saturday 28 May is a workshop rehearsal at Marist College, at 2.00pm.
• Concert Band rehearses Tuesday before school at 7:45am.
• Itinerant music lesson times are posted on the Google Classrooms and on the music room noticeboard.
• All music students are expected to practice their instruments daily as their performance music homework.
