Music News week ending 29 August 2021

Important reminders...

Choir rehearsals are on hold until further notice.

A reminder to all instrumental music students to check in with your itinerant music teacher for help through lockdown. Routine and regular practice is important. If you have any questions, please send me an email and I will hopefully be able to help. For students whose instruments are currently at school, we are unable to access these at this stage.

All NCEA music students are expected to have all of their performance credits completed by Week 9 of this term. Please ask your son how he is going toward this goal. Any questions, please do not hesitate to make contact with me so I can keep you updated with your son's progress in senior performance music.

I felt honoured to get a visit from old boys (L-R) Marist Afu, Israel Namulau'ulu-Sio, and Seth Setu. In 2015, these students were part of forming what is now the mass band and time spent with them was a reminder to me that once a St Paul's man, always a St Paul's man. It was a timely reminder that our young men are a part of something much bigger than themselves, and much longer than their 5-7 years at St Paul's College. As teachers, it is encouraging to see former students come 'home' and share what happens beyond their short time with us at the college. Be encouraged!
